On Wednesday, the crude oil price rose $2.29, marking a closing price of $77.41 per barrel for February delivery. Brent crude oil rose $2.57, marking a closing price of $82.67 per barrel for March delivery.
For February delivery, natural gas rose 3 cents to $3.67 per 1,000 cubic feet. Gasoline climbed 10 cents in the wholesale market marking a closing price of $2.43 per gallon for February delivery. Heating oil rose 8 cents to $3.22 a gallon for February delivery.
Gold rose $2.40 to $1,878.90 an ounce for February delivery. Silver fell 19 cents to $23.48 an ounce, and copper rose 9 cents to $4.17 a pound for March delivery.
The dollar rose to 132.42 Japanese yen from 132.25 yen. The euro rose to $1.0761 from $1.0740.
